Winter wild life observation
In Tibet, we have very interesting verity of wild animals for different seasons. Wild Yellow Ducks and Black Naked Cranes come from Northern part to central Tibet, near Lhasa areas in wintertime. For the other seasons, we do not have yellow ducks and Black Necked Crane in Lhasa. So if you are interested to observing these animals; you have to come here in the winter season. In this trip, we take you to the different places near by Lhasa city where the wild life are visible. Our winter tour guides are very well informed about the folk talks and mythical tales relating to these animals.
Day 1: Arrival/ Acclimatization at Lhasa. Stay at Yak hotel (3 stars) which Tibetan run hotel.
Day 2: Lhasa sightseeing Potala, Jokang Temple and barkor streets.
Day 3: Morning drive to countryside to see yellow ducks by river Kyichu, (which is home for yellow ducks in the winter). You can feed them. For lunch we will ready a lunch box and you could have a picnic at the riverside. Or we could visit a village and have a lunch with villager in their village home and then back to Lhasa.
Day 4: Drive to Panpo county, East side of Lhasa, this county usually do not have tourists but its worth to visit to see Black Necked Cranes, which are living on the farms with many family of Yaks around. To have more cherishing moments in this tour, we could arrange you a home cooked lunch (organic) with a local Tibetan family. During this time you can witness the winter life of Tibetan villagers and the guide will help you in explaining and interpreting your communication with them.
Day 5: End of the trip, depart from Lhasa
